with other artists in a combined effort to produce a variety of art, music,
or crafts to raise funds for Luz de Esperanza? “Art Cubed” would donate
100% of the proceeds raised toward missions. Currently we are gathering
interested individuals to launch this outreach. There is also a booth set up in back of the church to receive your art to be displayed. Contact Tim Bylsma at 356-5147 or tkw3sons@msn.com.

* Pen-pal ministries: Too busy, or your schedule cannot accommodate set dates? Why not try Pen-pal ministries? “Pen-pal ministries” will provide you a “pen-pal” in prison that wants, and needs positive correspondences. This ministry would be based on Godly principals, with emphasis on a mutual understanding of the issues that both sides face on a daily basis. Through your letters and through Gods love you can be that positive influence in someone’s life. Your letters will be mailed from the church and no personal information will be shared with the “Pen-pal” that you don’t put in your correspondence.
If interested please call Warren Sitzman at 352-3371. Be sure to leave your name and phone number if you do not catch me at home and I will return your call.

Church Break-Ins & Vandalism: There have been a series of church break ins over the last few months here in Greeley. Two months ago Fellowship had an attempted break-in….the second pane of one of our glass windows did not break. We reported this incident to the police. Since then, several other churches have reported similar incidents.
Please help us: 1) If you are driving by late at night and see some activity…would you stop and check it out. 2) make sure you lock the doors (check all of them) when you leave. 3) If you come and the door is open….and no one around, please lock it and let Pastor Don know. 4) Pray for those who are doing this….that God will touch their hearts—and that this destructive behavior will stop.
Dear Fellowship, We’re back from Peru
The last team has returned safely back from Peru this past Wednesday. We’re grateful for the safe travel and wonderful time God granted each team in assisting Pastor Henry and Naty at Luz de Esperanza.
Thank you to all who were “senders!” While you physically were not there, your prayers, encouragement and financial support are greatly appreciated. It is a tremendous gift from God to be part of a church that takes seriously Jesus’ command to love another and to go into all the world, announcing God’s Kingdom. Thanks for all your help.
Today we will see pictures and here testimonies from the three teams on how God each has seen God working in Luz de Esperanza and in our hearts

* Update on Sonja (Nedrud) Leftwich: So many of you have asked how Sonja is doing. Thank you, dear friends. So to facilitate matters, here is a short update. Sonja has recovered beautifully from the surgery to remove the cancerous kidney, and also surrounding tissue, nodes and part of the liver. The cancer is possibly more advanced than first thought. There are some mysterious spots on one lung and the doctors suspect that there is another tumor growing in the other kidney. All spots are too small to biopsy and deal with right now, so Sonja will have a three month waiting period to see how these spots behave. Then there will be another evaluation. There are other details, but for now, the Nedruds covet your continued prayers as follows:
1. That we all acknowledge God’s sovereignty and thus a perfect plan for our lives…even if we don’t necessarily like that plan right now and we end up squirming a lot.
2. That we all acknowledge God’s power and ability to hold together the vast universe he lovingly created and thus every tiny molecule is under his power as well.
3. That we all acknowledge God’s goodness and mercy for his children and thus he longs to give us our desires...IF asked through the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
4. That we all pray for healing in our lives so that God’s own greatest desire can be realized…and that is his desire for a close, dynamic, personal, and covenant relationship with us.
5. In light of the above, pray for Sonja’s healing…specifically that the cancer will not spread. In fact, let’s pray boldly and ask that these spots will just disappear!
6. Pray for encouragement for Sonja and Brian…so they can fully experience God’s placing them under the shadow of his wings.
For those of you who know Sonja and are into blogs, Sonja and Brian have set up an internet “journal” about their experience so far as a young couple going through a difficult time. The internet address is as follows: http://alifedonetogether.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html.
-Thank you, Dave and Edith (Sonja’s parents)

*We're off to Perus:
Dear Fellowship,
The first group bound for Abancay, Peru leaves in a week and there are a few things you can do to help us go!
Pray! We covet your prayers. Prayer calendars of our daily activities in Peru are on the information table.
Donate! We had a great response on Sunday to our call for items that we need to take to Peru! We have almost everything we need to send with the first and last group. Our biggest need is $$ for medicine to send the second week. If you are able to donate, please take a knife and place the amount listed in the envelope on the table.
Write! Write a letter of support for individual team members and put them in the box on the box on the table in front of the sound booth by the send-off dates listed below.
Thanks to everyone who has signed up to drop off and pick up groups at the airport! We have enough drivers and even some back-ups!
Come to a send-off at Fellowship! We will meet in the parking lot to prayerfully send the groups off on their mission. The dates and times are:
• Wednesday, June 11th at 3:30 AM
• Monday, June 16th at 7 AM
Thanks again for all of your support. We appreciate all that Fellowship is doing to be a part of the sending team. Call me if you have questions.
* cross-continental bike tour: You are invited to come for a worship celebrate with 144 cyclists at a Celebration Rally at 10 AM on July 27, at Englewood HS Stadium, 3800 S. Logan Street. The tour takes God’s message to the streets, raising awareness and funds to help break the cycle that keeps people poor. Each rider has raised $10,000 prior to the tour.
Locally, Pastors Dave De Ridder, Steve Parker and Jerry Dykstra from the Third Christian Reformed Church in Denver are participating in the tour. The “Sea to Sea Tour” is the largest cross-continental bike tour in North America. This event is free and open to the general public.

*Serving at The Guadalupe Center: We will be preparing and serving our monthly meal at the Guadalupe Center this Friday, May 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. During the past few summers we have had volunteers able to bring their grill to the shelter to grill burgers and brats. We always hear how much the residents appreciate this and that none of the other volunteers do it. If anyone is able to supply a grill next Friday please sign up near the A/V booth in the back of the church or contact Sean or Mary Lacefield. As always, we need volunteers to help prepare a dish (entree, side, or dessert), serve the meal, or both. We will be meeting at the Guadalupe Center at 6:45 p.m. if we are able to grill burgers and brats. Also, a big thank you to Arlin and Emma Disselkoen, Kim McLain, Rick Hartman, Joanna Dobson, and Tom Torkildson for their help either preparing a dish, serving at the shelter, or both last month!

a wheel barrow, shovels, hose, rakes, RR ties or landscape timber,
old working lawn mower. These items will be stored in our shed. Also if you know of ANY needy family that could benefit from our harvest this fall, let them know that “our garden is their garden.”
Thanks so much and I hope to see you out there planting your favorite plants and seeds. --Duane Lucas

* Help Fellowship volunteer at the Guadalupe
Center TODAY: Fellowship prepares and serves a meal at the Guadalupe Center on the 30th day of each month throughout the year. The Guadalupe Center is the homeless shelter in Greeley that provides safe shelter, food, support services, and an avenue to self-sufficiency for the homeless in our community. There are usually between 10 and 20 individuals to serve and they are always very thankful for the meal and fellowship.
The meal is served at 7:00 p.m. and everything is usually cleaned up by 8:00 p.m. If you don’t know how to get to the shelter, someone can meet you at Fellowship and caravan over to the shelter with you. We still need one more person/couple to prepare a desert for March! Also, we still need people to help prepare and/or serve a meal on the 30th of each month thereafter. If you can’t volunteer this month and would like to volunteer in the coming months there are sign-up sheets for each month at the back of the church near the A/V booth. If you have never volunteered and have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Sean or Mary Lacefield. We have had elementary school children to elders in our church prepare and serve meals at the center and it is always a great experience.

* Pea-Pod Patch Garden: As you know, this is every one’s garden so feel free to participate. Feel free plant and harvest your favorite crop or plant your favorite flower in the flower patch. We are discovering that our goal to help family’s with need within our church and community will require that we bring our little Pea Pod Patch up a notch. So, if you know of anyone who is not going to be using their gardening stuff, we sure could use it at the church. LET’S RECYCLE some garden supplies. The Pea-Pod Patch is in need of :
a wheel barrow, shovels, hose, rakes, RR ties or landscape timber,
old working lawn mower. These items will be stored in our shed. Also if you know of ANY needy family that could benefit from our harvest this fall, let them know that “our garden is their garden.”
Thanks so much and I hope to see you out there planting your favorite plants and seeds. --Duane Lucas

* Colorado Constitution Amendment Petition: Today you will have an opportunity to sign a petition seeking to change the Colorado State Constitution concerning the definition of the word “person.” Many who work for the pro-life movement of Colorado desire to see this clarification of the word “person” to “include any human being from the moment of fertilization.” This definition clarification would help protect the rights of the unborn according to pro-life advocates.
Working through our government and the laws it enforces is one of many ways you can be a godly influence on our culture. If you feel led to sign this petition, Arlin & Emma Disselkoen will have petition sheets you can sign on the Information Table and they will be available for questions during our coffee time this morning. * THANK YOU! Thank you to Dean & Marne Vandergon and all how helped host Classis Rocky Mountain this past Tuesday and Wednesday. I received so many “thank yous” from the attendees. As your pastors, Tim and I would like to personally thank you for your service to our brothers and sisters in the Christian Reformed churches in Classis Rocky Mountain. Your hard work and gracious service was a wonderful gift to all of us. Thanks again!

We will also baptize Brecken Stranahan, son of and Jason and Lindsey (Barkley) Stranahan. We thank God for the call on our lives to repent and join His Kingdom and the gift of baptism as a tangible expression of what God promises to do for us in Jesus.

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday of Holy Week (the Thursday before Easter). It was the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples, sharing a meal with them which we call the Last Supper. More information to come.
* PeaPod Patch: It will be spring soon and our communal garden, the PeaPod Patch, will need some attention. The garden was a huge success last year and we hope that will be the same this summer. If you have garden tools (shovels, rakes, wheel barrow, hose, plant food, RR ties, seeds, etc.) around the house that need a new home, bring them to church and we’ll use them this spring. Our hope is to expand the garden to invite our neighbors and also send produce to the Guadalupe Center on a regular basis. OASIS teachers, feel free to claim a section of the garden.

They really appreciate these meals during the intense Parent-Teacher conferences.
